Princess Merida (Brave) - Drawing

Posted on 13:29 by mohit
thumbnailPrincess Merida: Merida is a headstrong teenager of royal upbringing who is struggling to take control of her own destiny. She feels most at home in the outdoors honing her impressive athletic skills as an archer and swordfighter, and racing across the magnificent countryside with her faithful horse, Angus. With a spirit as vibrant as her untamed hair, Merida also has a softness of heart, especially when it comes to her wee triplet brothers.

28: PLATO: On music

28: PLATO: On music:
28: PLATO: On music

Plato (424BC-348BC) was a classical Greek thinker and along with his buddies, Socrates and Aristotle, helped form the basis of philosophy and science in the western world. I won’t pretend that I know anything about him … I don’t. I was looking for a good quote about music and this was the most beautiful one I found. Can you imagine a world without music? It’s such an important part of our culture, our society and the very fabric of our existence. I listen to all sorts of music while I’m working ranging from funk, soul, jazz, rock, electronic, house … whatever mood I’m in basically. There’s nothing better than when I’m happily drawing, music is playing, I’m singing along (poorly) and at that particular moment in time, all is good in the world.
- Doing long, narrative comic strips require a lot of energy and time so sometimes I like to follow those with shorter, poster-style, single illustration cartoons like this one. It’s also necessary because there’s not enough time for me to do three long and complicated updates a week.

- Yes, this family keep the Grandfather locked in the attic.

El documental "Moebius Redux: A Life in Pictures" completito para conocer mejor a Jean Giraud…:

Posted on 02:54 by mohit
One of my idols inspired by other. What a pair of geniuses!

"pepita is an interesting project of 井上雄彦 (Inoue Takehiko) where he traveled to Spain to explore the works of Spanish Catalan architect Antoni Gaudi.

It's a collection of sketches he drew on location, some impressions of the people from the past, and other assorted sketches he overlay onto the photos taken.

There's a lot on Spanish architecture and much on the history but everything is written in Japanese.

This book is actually a limited edition. A 108-page hardcover that comes with a DVD (region code 2) and several calendar cards feature the art in the book."

Below are some videos from the DVD. 「"pepita" 井上雄彦 meets ガウディ」DVD chapter 5 "ガウディの生家" 「"pepita" 井上雄彦 meets ガウディ」DVD chapter 7 "職人魂" 「"pepita" 井上雄彦 meets ガウディ」DVD chapter 14 "元模型職人"
